Maryland State Police respond to call and arrest Robert Anderson after alleged assault on July 5. 

SNOW HILL, Md. - Robert Keith Anderson, 49, of Snow Hill, was arrested Monday morning and charged with first and second-degree assault and other related charges.

Sunday night around 10:45 p.m. Maryland State Police were dispatched to Market Street in Snow Hill for an alleged dispute between Anderson and an adult woman. Police say the woman told them she was physically restrained and broke free from the home to contact 911.

Police state they were advised that Anderson had shown his gun inside the home and threatened the woman who was inside the residence at the time.

Police add that after several failed attempts at contact with Anderson, they obtained a warrant through the Worcester County District Court, which was served by the police STATE team. Sheriff deputies and the Criminal Enforcement Division responded to the scene as well.

Anderson was taken into custody, and police said no shots were fired by Anderson or police during the 11-hour incident. Anderson is currently held without bond at the Worcester County Detention Center as the investigation continues.
