Millville town council reviews multiple concepts for Evans Park expansion

MILLVILLE, Del.- Evans Park in Millville could be unrecognizable in the future.

Town Council and the town's Parks and Recreation committee are exploring multiple additions to the park, including a pirate ship themed splash park for kids, a boardwalk and a butterfly garden.

These concepts were discussed by the council and commission at a meeting Tuesday night.

A survey sent out to neighbors looked for suggestions on what could be added to the park. According to Millville mayor Ronald Belinko, the idea was also fueled by the town's five year review for their comprehensive plan to the state is coming up.

The current amount of parking spaces in the master plan is 150. A price tag was also discussed at the meeting, however that number is still up in the air.

This is a ten year buildout and the plans could change in that time, as the construction would be in phases and each individual phase would be reviewed by town council.

The park would be paid for with taxpayer dollars. These concepts are still in very early stages.
