MILLVILLE, Del. — Millville’s proposed fiscal year 2026 budget is up for a vote Tuesday night, and it shows a modest increase in spending compared to the current year. The town council is reviewing a $2.2 million budget—roughly $15,000 more than the 2025 budget.
The biggest jump in expenses is tied to payroll, reflecting increased staffing needs as the town grows. Another notable increase is a proposed $130,000 allocation for ambulance services, nearly $11,000 more than last year.
Town officials say the added expenses are a direct result of continued residential development. As more homes are built, the demand for services such as emergency response and public works has grown.
The budget must be finalized by the end of this month. The new fiscal year begins May 1.
