The Trump administration plans to deport Afghans detained in the U.S. back to Afghanistan via Pakistan. That is according to court documents obtained by The Associated Press. Immigrant advocacy groups warn this could endanger those who fled war and persecution, including those who helped the U.S. military, by handing them over to the Taliban. Federal officials said in court documents that some deportations could begin as early as Monday from Louisiana. Immigration and Customs Enforcement says it does not comment on future deportation operations. Officials at the Pakistan embassy in Washington did not return messages seeking comment. The deportation plan was first reported by Bloomberg.
