OCEAN CITY, Md. - A Saturday evening traffic stop in Ocean City resulted in three people being arrested and the recovery of three loaded handguns, two of which were reported stolen out of Baltimore County.

Around 7:45 p.m. on June 14, Ocean City Police stopped a car near N. Division Street and Baltimore Avenue. Officers reported smelling marijuana from inside the car and conducted a probable cause search. All four occupants were under 21 and not legally allowed to possess marijuana, said police.

During the search, officers found marijuana inside the car and on one person, along with one loaded handgun in the car and two more on Tyshawn Yerby, 20, of Baltimore. Police said two of the guns had been reported stolen in 2023.

Three people were arrested and charged with multiple handgun-related offenses and theft of property valued between $100 and $1,500. A fourth occupant was released at the scene.

  • Oreese Stevenson Jr., 20, of Baltimore, was charged with five handgun offenses and theft and is being held without bond

  • Tyshawn Yerby, 20, of Baltimore, faces 10 handgun charges and theft and is also being held without bond

  • A 17-year-old from Middle River, charged as an adult, is facing five handgun charges and theft and is being held without bond

All three were transferred to Worcester County Jail following their appearances before a Maryland District Court Commissioner.
