Oceans Calling makes its debut in Ocean City this weekend

OCEANS CITY, Md. - The Oceans Calling music festival kicked off in Ocean City.

The concert organizers say the music festival is expected to bring in 50,000 people a day. The town said that Oceans Calling festival is estimated to bring a 30 million dollar impact for Ocean City.

With the new event happening in the beginning part of the shoulder season, it brings in much needed business for hotels, merchants and restaurants in Ocean City.

Rick Meehan, the mayor of Ocean City said he is excited for the festival to be in Ocean City every year from here on out.

"We've introduced so many people to Ocean City and to all the businesses and usually that results in them coming back," Meehan said. "You know when they fall in love with our venue as everybody seems too, it's a great opportunity, this is going to become a signature event."

This Sunday October 1 is the last day you can attend Oceans Calling.
