The golf course will not be open for play, but Kupfer says there will be a membership drive and Big Oyster food truck, the very restaurant that will open on the same property.

MILFORD, Del. - The old Rookery golf course in Milford will have a soft open as the Southern Delaware Golf Club Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to the public, according to the Director of Agronomy, Bill Kupfer.

The golf course will not be open for play, but Kupfer says there will be a membership drive and Big Oyster food truck, the very restaurant that will open on the same property. Kupfer says there may be activities like a Hole-in-One contest to win a free membership, but that has not been finalized.

This soft open comes after almost a year since Johnson Companies purchased the property and has renovated the course. Kupfer says the golf course is still expected to fully open and operate in the spring.
