BRIDGEVILLE, Del. — Emergency crews rescued a person from an unsecured trench, on Tuesday, Aug. 18, after a collapse left the person hurt in Bridgeville.
The Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Company received assistance from several fire departments and specialized rescue teams during the trench rescue. The responders included the Seaford Volunteer Fire Department, Greenwood Volunteer Fire Company, Blades Volunteer Fire Company, Georgetown Fire Company, Sussex County EMS and HazMat, Delaware State Police Aviation and Kent County Special Operations.
When rescue crews arrived, they found one person hurt inside an unsecured trench. Rescue technicians worked to stabilize and secure the trench before safely removing the person.
The person's condition and details about what led to the trench collapse were not immediately provided.
