WORCESTER COUNTY, Md. — A recovery operation was conducted Thursday at Assateague Island National Seashore after a single-engine plane was forced to make an emergency landing on Wednesday.
A helicopter was called to assist with removing the aircraft, which encountered mechanical issues en route to the Ocean City Airport. The pilot, who was the only person aboard, was able to land the plane safely.
Fortunately, the pilot was not injured, and the plane sustained no damage.
