GEORGETOWN, Del. - Railroad crossing restoration will cause a temporary closure of Zoar Road in Georgetown. Work will begin on July 14 and finish on July 18.
The Delaware Department of Transportation has announced that Delmarva Central Railroad will be doing maintenance on the railroad crossing on Zoar Road beginning Monday, July 14, at 5 a.m., resulting in a complete shutdown of the road. Updates and news about the closure will be posted ahead of time for drivers.
DelDOT will set up detours for drivers along that road. A northbound detour will direct drivers going from Zoar Road to Bethesda and Governor Stockley roads. For those traveling southbound, a detour will be in place to direct drivers the opposite way, onto Governor Stockley Road, Bethesda Road and then back to Zoar.
The road will be closed 24 hours a day. DelDOT says work is expected to be finished and the detour lifted no later than 10 p.m. on Friday, July 18.
