...COASTAL FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM EDT
SUNDAY...

* WHAT...One to two feet of inundation above ground level in low-
lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.

* WHERE...Kent and Inland Sussex.

* WHEN...Until 2 AM EDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...At this level, widespread roadway flooding occurs in
coastal and bayside communities and along inland tidal
waterways. Many roads become impassable. Some damage to
vulnerable structures may begin to occur.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Cannot rule out major tidal flooding
impacts, especially around Rehoboth Bay and Indian River.
Impacts will be most severe in back bay areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Coastal Flood Warning means that moderate or major tidal
flooding is occurring or imminent. Be prepared for rising water
levels and take appropriate action to protect life and property.
Follow the recommendations of local emergency management
officials.

Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The water may be
deeper than you think it is. You will be putting yourself in
danger and your vehicle may be damaged, leading to costly
repairs.

flood impact information for your local tide gauge.

Rehoboth Beach Cleaning Up During & After Blizzard

Rehoboth Beach Public Works Blizzard Cleanup

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- A blizzard at the beach, the perfect storm some might say.

But for the essential workers out trying to clear roads and sidewalks, Rehoboth Beach Director of Public Works Kevin Williams says it's the ultimate challenge.

"From about midnight to six or seven this morning, it was really coming down hard so just trying to plow, keep the plows going," Williams said. "Pushing snow and fighting the wind because the wind keeps trying to pull it back in."

Williams said workers would be out until about four or five p.m. before calling it quits until tomorrow.

He also reported a power outage at North Shores to the sewage lift station. Emergency generators kicked in and as of Noon it was running off of the emergency backup. The station is back up and running

Some drivers like Ryan Nys were out trying to get through the snow.

"I decided to go to the gas station," Nys said. Even if I knew my truck was on "E" and I knew the four wheel drive would burn some gas but decided to risk it."

He was able to fill his car up and get on his way.

Down by the boardwalk, workers at the Atlantic Sands were clearing snow from sidewalks doing their best to keep streets and the boards ice-free. Don Allen says tomorrow may be a difficult clean up day.

"The problem is going to be tomorrow when everything is icing over," Allen said. "Then it's going to have to be salted up a lot. A lot of shoveling, a lot of scraping so people will need to be careful walking tomorrow."
