WORCESTER COUNTY, MD -A series of nighttime closures on U.S. Route 113 near Bishopville Road and Kepler Lane started Monday morning after a temporary roadblock to move oversized natural gas tanks.
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration confirmed that both northbound and southbound lanes were scheduled to be closed starting at midnight and to reopen around 5 a.m.
The closures will continue on the following dates:
- Wednesday, June 11
- Friday June 13
- Monday June 16
- Wednesday, June 18
Each closure will begin at midnight and end by 5 a.m., weather permitting.
The temporary traffic stoppages are necessary to allow the safe transport of five oversized natural gas tanks through the area, according to the state highway administration.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and seek alternate routes during the early morning hours on those days.
