SEAFORD, Del. — A man and woman from Seaford are facing several felony drug charges after a Probation and Parole search uncovered heroin, crack cocaine and other drug-related items inside a home with a child.
According to Delaware State Police, the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force assisted Probation and Parole with a search at probationer Randolph Clayton's house, on Woodland Mills Drive in Seaford. The search was conducted around 9:54 a.m. on May 22.
Troopers said that while the search was taking place, 23-year-old Clayton and 19-year-old Anyla Brewer were both inside the home along with a child. Police took both Clayton and Brewer into custody at the scene.
During the search, officers found approximately 36.27 grams of heroin, 9.46 grams of crack cocaine, 10 oxycodone pills, a digital scale and additional drug paraphernalia.
Charges and Custody Status
Clayton was charged with multiple felonies including:
Possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, tier 3
Possession of a controlled substance, tier 3
Possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance
Possession of a controlled substance, tier 1
Conspiracy 2nd degree
Endangering the welfare of a child by committing a drug offense with a child in the dwelling
Possession of a controlled substance without a prescription
Two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia
He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $52,000 cash bond.
Brewer faces the same set of drug-related felonies, with the exception of an additional charge for maintaining a drug property. She was also arraigned and released on a $33,000 unsecured bond.
Both are expected to face further court proceedings related to the charges.
