BERLIN, Md.- In a bid to enhance maritime infrastructure, the South Point boat ramp is currently closed for rehabilitation work. The ramp is located at the end of South Point Rd off of Route 611 in Berlin.
According to Worcester County Commissioners, the essential two-month project is slated for completion by Mar. 1, 2024. The closure is needed to replace the bulkhead on the ramp.
Funding for this project has been secured through Waterway Improvement Grants from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. It is being supplemented by specifically allocated funds from Worcester County.
Boaters are urged to plan accordingly during this temporary closure, as the revamping of the South Point boat ramp promises improved facilities for recreational water access in the near future.
