GEORGETOWN, Del.- SUN Behavioral Delaware will celebrate the grand opening of its new Outpatient Building with a ribbon cutting and open house. The facility is located at 21636 Biden Avenue, adjacent to SUN Behavioral’s main hospital.
The organization says the new Outpatient Building is designed to expand mental health and substance use disorder services for the local community. SUN Behavioral Delaware, a 90-bed psychiatric hospital in Sussex County, offers a range of specialized care for people struggling with mental illness and substance use. The hospital provides inpatient and day hospital services, with tailored programs for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Syed Shah called the opening "very exciting" and said he looks forward to the facility benefiting the community.
"I'm looking forward to it contributing to society and the betterment of the people and the community here," Shah said. "Looking forward to that."
The public is invited to attend the open house and tour the new building on March 19 at 3:30 p.m.
