School bus evacuated

SEAFORD, Del. - A Sussex Academy school bus had to be evacuated Monday morning after getting stuck in flood waters.

According to Sussex Academy Transportation Supervisor Thomas Peet, the school's administration was alerted just before 7:30 a.m. that a bus had stalled in flood waters at the Seaford Walmart. The bus was there to pick up a group of students.

Members of the Seaford Volunteer Fire Department and Seaford Police Department were called to assist with evacuating the bus. Students were transported to school by another bus to resume their regular daily learning activities.
