GEORGETOWN, Del.- On March 12-16 a Sussex Academy student, freshman Lillie Bradley represented the State of Delaware at the National 4-H Ignite Summit in Washington D.C.

This four day interactive summit helps students across the world spark inspiration through hands-on workshops, career exploration sessions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities. Over 1,600 teens have attended this summit ranging from across 49 states, some even came from Puerto Rico, Guam, Canada, and Italy. Participating now in its third year, Ignite focuses on three tracks including Agriculture-Science, STEM, and Healthy Living, the branch being from Lillie's area of focus.

Lillie said she had an amazing experience and hopes to return next year to focus on Agriculture-Science.

"I gained a lot of knowledge that I can take back to my fellow 4-Hers and made some great connections, "Bradley said. "From learning about pickling, to eating crickets, to dairy production and living healthier, it was a lot of information presented in a fun way in a short time frame. I encourage anyone with an interest in those Ignite fields to apply and to join Delaware 4-H."

According to Sussex Academy, Lillie applied and got interviewed to be selected as one the of six delegates representing Delaware 4-H; other attendees including Juliette Anger, Sedona Ashman, Anna Holland, Flynn Mucha, and Austin Yourek.

Lillie said, "Ignite has opened so many doors for me and introduced me to so many new people and skills."
