LEWES, Del. — The Sussex County Land Trust has appointed Trisha Newcomer to its Board of Directors. According to the Sussex County Land Trust Newcomer, who has more than 25 years of experience in municipal government, economic development, and community relations, will bring a wealth of knowledge to the organization.
Newcomer currently serves as the Director of Economic Development & Community Relations for the City of Seaford. In her role, she oversees public communications, manages development projects, and works with state and federal legislators to secure funding for local initiatives. Her past accomplishments include leading the Oyster House Park Master Plan and the Western Sussex Business Campus project.
A graduate of Wilmington University with a B.S. in Business Administration, Newcomer also holds an A.A.S. in Office Administration Technology from Delaware Technical Community College and is a Leadership Delaware graduate. She serves on several boards, including the Sussex County Health Coalition and Soroptimist International of Seaford.

SCLT’s Annual Meeting is scheduled for Friday, March 28, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at the Clubhouse at Baywood Greens, located at 32267 Clubhouse Way, Long Neck, Delaware. The event offers the public an opportunity to learn more about SCLT’s mission to protect Sussex County’s natural, agricultural, recreational, and historical resources.
