KENT COUNTY, Del. - In an interesting twist to the usual porch pirate stories, the Camden-Wyoming community witnessed a more direct form of theft Tuesday night straight out of people's mailboxes.
Delaware State Police arrested 32-year-old Mark Morris and 29-year-old Aaliyah Coleman of Dover.
The arrests came after 10 p.m. when the state police responded to reports of people in a white Tahoe driving around and checking mailboxes on Wood Duck Lane in Camden-Wyoming.
Upon investigating, troopers say they discovered envelopes and packages on the floorboard of the Tahoe, which were addressed to people on Hazletville Road and in the Wild Quail Golf and Country Club.
Both Morris and Coleman were charged with the following crimes:
- Theft Less than $1500 where Victim is Older than 62 Years of Age (Felony) – 5 counts
- Conspiracy 2nd (Felony)
- Theft Less than $1500 – 4 counts
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child
Morris was also charged with traffic offenses. Both were released on their own recognizance.
