MISSING BOATER SEARCH COURTESY IRVFC

DAGSBORO, Del.- Delaware State Police confirm the search for a missing boater has turned into a death investigation.

Coast Guard officials began looking for someone who went missing from their boat in the Indian River Bay near the Vines Creek and Bay Colony Marina in Dagsboro on Saturday.

Officials say around 6 p.m. on Saturday they received a call from a person who noticed a 20 ft. white boat in the marsh with no one on it.

The Coast Guard Station Indian River was sent there and found the engine on the boat was running but no one was on the boat. On Sunday night, police told CoastTV the circumstances did not appear to be suspicious, and next-of-kin notifications were happening.
