MILFORD, Del. — Two new osprey chicks have hatched at the DuPont Nature Center, marking an exciting moment for wildlife watchers in the area.

According to the center, the first chick broke through its shell on the night of May 18. Its sibling hatched the next day.

A livestream is also available for those hoping to catch a glimpse of the young birds from home. (DNREC)

According to the center, osprey chicks grow quickly, typically reaching about 75 percent of their adult size within a month. Nature center staff say visitors should take the opportunity to witness the rapid development in person.

The center invites the public to stop by and view the osprey family at the nature center’s observation area. A livestream is also available for those hoping to catch a glimpse of the young birds from home.
