GEORGETOWN, Del. - A persistent haze has covered the Georgetown area, disrupting daily routines and raising concerns among residents.
Ángel Velásquez Díaz, a local who enjoys running, mentioned that the smoke has significantly interrupted his outdoor activities.
"It really hasn't been long since I realized this, but in these days that have passed, I haven't been able to go running because of the smoke," he said.
Others say how odd the event is.
"It's just kind of little scary in a way, and then like the sky is just a little different today... this looks like a whole different world today or something like that," Rondell Thomas said.
For Bersahi Soto, the haze is an entirely new experience.
"Well, it does affect me because first of all, my eyes, and for the first time in the 22 years that I have been here in Delaware, I see all the smoke that is coming," Soto said.
Residents who plan to spend time outdoors are advised to limit their exposure or wear masks for protection.
