Widow's Watch Court

Police say Sabina Bjelogrlic was found unresponsive in the water behind a residence on Widow’s Watch Court around 7:21 p.m. 

OCEAN PINES, Md. - A 75-year-old woman died after she fell into a canal behind an Ocean Pines rental home Sunday evening, according to the Ocean Pines Police Department.

Police say Sabina Bjelogrlic was found unresponsive in the water behind a rental home on Widow’s Watch Court around 7:21 p.m. Officers pulled her onto the dock and immediately began attempts to save her. Police say Ocean Pines EMS then took over care and took Bjelogrlic to Atlantic General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The investigation indicated that Bjelogrlic’s fall into the canal was accidental. She had hit her head, knocking her unconscious, before falling into the water. The Ocean Pines Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene.
