Due to the nature of the shooting, the Homicide Unit took over the investigation. 

FRANKFORD, Del. - The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is investigating after a woman was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound in a Frankford home on Monday afternoon.

Troopers responded to the 34000 block of Zion Church Road at about 2:26 p.m. June 30 to check on the welfare of a 37-year-old woman who had not been heard from in several days, according to police. When they arrived, they discovered the woman dead at the scene.

Her identity is being withheld until her family is notified. Due to the nature of the shooting, the Homicide Unit took over the investigation. Detectives said they do not believe there is any threat to public safety.
