SUSSEX COUNTY, Del. – The Cape Henlopen School District has announced a series of administrative leadership changes set to take effect July 1.
Bethany Beach's police chief, Michael Redmon, has been placed on administrative leave following a DUI charge, WRDE confirmed with the town manager.
"When an employee is placed on paid leave, this should never be construed as expressing or implying that an employee will face employment action or that an employee may have engaged in any wrongful conduct of any severity," the district said Friday.
An investigation is ongoing, though the district could not comment further. WRDE has reached out to area law enforcement and learned that state police are not involved at the time of writing.
A shed that belongs to the Ocean Pines Police Department was robbed on December 17.
Newly elected and appointed officers of the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company gathered Wednesday night for planning sessions to gear up for the new year.
