The well-known "Biden Barn" in the Argo Corner area off Route 1 has been demolished.
A pole barn caught fire in Dorchester County early Thursday morning. The Office of the State Fire Marshal in Maryland said the 30 by 40 foot barn with a hay loft took 60 minutes to get under control at 4270 Beulah Road.
A fire showing from within a barn on Will Smith Road was caused by an electrical malfunction according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal.
The fire company says materials stored in the 30 foot x 40 foot manure shed at a poultry farm ignited.
The preliminary cause, heat on grass clippings under the mower of a recently-used tractor, was deemed an accident by officials. Damage is estimated at $160,000.
After being postponed in April due to bad weather, the festival is now slated to take place in late summer.
