Delaware Governor Matthew Meyer terminated the State of Emergency declared in response to the winter storm as of 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, releasing Delaware National Guard assets.

Tuesday, Sept. 30, marks the last day drivers will need to pay for parking at Lewes beaches, bringing the town in line with other Delaware coastal communities that wrapped up paid parking earlier this month.

The decision comes as the hospital has observed a consistent decrease in the number of respiratory viral patients admitted to their facilities over the past few weeks. 

Executive Director Wesley Paulson says there was confidence in winning the lawsuit after a superior court judge said the site plan could be included in the lawsuit, but the board concluded the prolonged process is not worth going through anymore.
