Maryland Senate Republicans are pitching a plan to block a potential new tax, introducing a bill that would prevent state and local governments from requiring tracking devices in cars. 

The Maryland State Senate Education, Energy, and Environment Committee is holding a hearing this afternoon on Senate Bill 0588, a proposal that would require junior varsity and varsity athletes to compete based on their biological sex rather than gender identity.

A bipartisan bill that would require drivers involved in deadly crashes or those causing life-threatening injuries to undergo breath and blood testing for impaired driving is being debated Friday in the Maryland State Senate.
