The SS United States is set to begin its journey from Philadelphia to Mobile, Alabama, where preparations will continue to convert the vessel into the world’s largest artificial reef, after a months long delay.
The planned departure of the historic SS United States from Philadelphia’s Pier 82 has been delayed. The boat was originally expected to pass through the Delaware Bay Nov. 15, past Sussex County's coast.
