REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - A fire at the West Bay Park Marina damaged four boats early Wednesday morning, prompting a joint response from two Sussex County fire companies and an investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshal.

The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company was first alerted just before 1 a.m. on June 25 for a report of a marine fire in the marina, located near South Drive and Bayview Drive off Camp Arrowhead Road. The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was requested for mutual aid, dispatching Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility and 80-11 with 80 Marine 1 from Oak Orchard.

According to first responders, two pontoon boats initially caught fire while docked at the marina. Indian River’s emergency crews focused on water supply operations. Marine 1 was canceled while en route. The Delaware State Fire Police also assisted at the scene.
No injuries were reported. The Delaware State Fire Marshal is continuing to investigate the cause of the fire and assess the extent of the damage.
