Fire in Selbyville

SELBYVILLE, Del. - A fire on Mallard Drive left a house engulfed in flames. The fire started at about 6:55 a.m. Nov. 9. The State Fire Marshal says there was one person in the house at the time of the fire, but they escaped without injury.

The Roxana Volunteer Fire Company, Bethany Beach Fire Company and Ocean City Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call. The fire was determined an accident and caused by an electrical malfunction according to the State Fire Marshal.

The picture above shows the house still well enveloped in smoke and fire from across the canal. The damage of the home is estimated at $85,000.
