REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - The Planning and Zoning commission has withdrawn its opposition to the Belhaven Hotel Project Appeal. Previously, the Belhaven Hotel Project had been appealed to the Board of Adjustment.

While this is one step moving forward, locals express mixed feelings. Herb Gray, a long-time city resident, said, "I’m old school. I know progress has to happen, but there is something that is so quaint, something that is so endearing about seeing everything as it is."

Alex Papajohn, a member of the family proposing the Belhaven Hotel, who expressed frustration with the lengthy approval process.

He said, "The family is not very happy with the process… and there are far too many delays as we are now onto 7 years." Despite the setbacks, he remains "hopeful" that a public hearing will be the next step in moving the project forward.
