BISHOPVILLE, Md. - A Bishopville woman was arrested after being charged with murder in connection to a deadly shooting that occurred Monday night in Worcester County.
Maryland State Police have arrested 61-year-old Bonnie Hackendorn following the discovery of 57-year-old David Shaulis’s body inside a home on Shell Mill Road. According to investigators, Hackendorn called 911 just before 9:30 p.m. on May 12, reporting that her boyfriend had been shot.
After consulting with the Worcester County State’s Attorney’s Office, Hackendorn was charged with first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, and multiple firearm-related charges. (Maryland State Police)
Troopers from the Berlin Barrack arrived and found Shaulis lying unresponsive on the floor with a gunshot wound. His body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death, said police.
After consulting with the Worcester County State’s Attorney’s Office, Hackendorn was charged with first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, and multiple firearm-related charges. She is being held without bond at the Worcester County Detention Center. The case remains under investigation.
