Blue Catfish taking over Pocomoke River in Snow Hill

Blue catfish, originally from the Mississippi River basin, have made their way into Maryland waters, including the Pocomoke River in Snow Hill. According to the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR), these invaders are wreaking havoc by preying on blue crab, menhaden, American eel, and other economically and ecologically important species.
