OCEAN CITY, Md. - Thousands of families flocked to Ocean City on Sunday to celebrate Mother’s Day, with many enjoying meals at packed local restaurants and spending time on the boardwalk.

At The Bayside Skillet, co-owner Sidney Zweigbaum said business was booming. “I’m too busy to do this interview we’re so busy,” Zweigbaum said amid the morning rush.

The restaurant was far from the only one bustling with diners hoping to treat their mothers to a special day. Long waits and crowded dining rooms were common across town, as families gathered to enjoy the occasion.

After breakfast, many families headed to the boardwalk for a scenic stroll by the ocean.

“Just be nice to your mom,” said Luke Miller, who was out with his family.

Miller had heartfelt words for his mother, adding, “I love her very much. She’s always supportive and she’s nice. And even when we make mistakes, she cheers us on.”

As the day winds down, families are reminded that the simplest gestures, a hug, a kind word, or just spending time together, often mean the most.
