GEORGETOWN, Del. - With July 4 around the corner, the Brandywine SPCA has created safety tips so that family pets can enjoy the holiday.Â
- Check to make sure your Pet's ID tags and Microchips are up to date.
- Keep your pets secure by making sure that your homes don't have loose window screens, fence gaps, or places where panicked pets could escape.
- Exercise your pets in order to tire them out when the fireworks start.
- Give your pet a comfort item like a blanket or a special toy.
- Celebrations last more than one day, be prepared after the 4th for any more fireworks.Â
The Brandywine Valley SPCA campuses will be closed for the July 4 holiday, and they will reopen on Saturday, July 5 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
