DELMARVA - With off-season in full swing, pet owners are able bring their dogs and other animals to beaches and boardwalks along the coast. There are different dates for some coastal towns for owners to be aware of, along with rules and regulations.
Ocean City
- According to the town, dogs are allowed on the beach and boardwalk from Sunday, Oct. 1 to Tuesday, April 30.
- Pets must be leashed.
- Pet owners are responsible for removing any waste from public and private property.
- Pets are allowed in the Assateague National Seashore Park all year round.
Bethany Beach
- According to the town, dogs are allowed on the beach and boardwalk from Sunday, Oct. 1 to Wednesday, May 15.
- Pets must be leashed and curbed at all times.
- Town code requires that owners clean up after their pet at all times.
Rehoboth Beach
- According to the town, dogs are allowed on the beach and boardwalk from Sunday, Oct. 1 to Tuesday, April 30.
- Pets must be leashed at all times.
- Pet owners must clean up pet waste on on public and private property.
