PETA’s lawsuit over the health of French bulldogs and some other popular dog breeds has been dismissed. A judge ruled Monday that a New York law was misapplied to the case. The animal rights group's suit accused the American Kennel Club of promulgating unhealthy “standards,” or ideals, for Frenchies, bulldogs, Chinese shar-peis, dachshunds and pugs. The club rejected the claims and said it prioritizes canine health. The AKC is hailing the decision and says it remains focused on preserving purebred dogs and “advocating for all dogs and the people who care for them.” PETA says its lawyers are assessing any legal options.
