Hudson Road Crash

The Jeep struck the driver’s side of the Cadillac, seriously injuring the 73-year-old man from Millsboro who was driving the Cadillac.

MILTON, Del. - A crash Tuesday morning on Coastal Highway sent two people to the hospital and backed up traffic for an extended period of time.

According to Delaware State Police, a Cadillac XTS was traveling east on Hudson Road around 9:45 a.m. July 8 when it stopped at the stop sign at Coastal Highway. Investigators said the Cadillac then failed to remain stopped and pulled into the path of a southbound Jeep Renegade traveling in the left lane of Coastal Highway.

The Jeep struck the driver’s side of the Cadillac, seriously injuring the 73-year-old man from Millsboro who was driving the Cadillac. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Jeep, a 24-year-old woman from Ellendale, was also transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Coastal Highway's southbound lanes were closed for about 30 minutes according to social media updates from DelDOT. Troopers investigated and crews worked to clear the scene for about two and a half hours.
