NEW CASTLE, Del.- The Delaware Department of Correction has promoted Robert Cykosky to major and named him security superintendent at Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution.
Cykosky, a 17-year DOC veteran, will oversee safety and security for staff and inmates at Delaware’s only women’s prison. His promotion takes effect June 15 and follows the retirement of Major Syrita Williams, who served in the role since 2021.
“Major Cykosky has consistently demonstrated an ability and willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities,” Bureau Chief of Prisons Robert May said. “Congratulations on this well-earned promotion, and welcome to the Warden’s leadership team at BWCI.”
Cykosky joined DOC in 2008 after working as an EMT and firefighter in Rehoboth Beach. He has held several leadership roles, most recently as captain at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center, where he led scheduling operations and helped implement a statewide scheduling system.
Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution, located in New Castle, houses pre-trial and sentenced women at all security levels.
