The Delaware 4-H Foundation hosts the annual auction, featuring top-placing animals from the beef, goat, lamb and swine departments. Businesses, organizations and community members bid on the animals to support young exhibitors who spend months preparing for the competition.

Delaware Farm Bureau, along with its Young Farmers and Ranchers program and county Farm Bureau chapters, was among the auction’s top supporters, according to the organization.

Funds earned by exhibitors can help pay for higher education, trade school programs, future livestock projects and other agricultural expenses, according to the bureau. The auction also gives young exhibitors an opportunity to build relationships with members of Delaware’s agricultural community.
