DELAWARE-A new project consists of making improvements to a heavily-transited intersection in Georgetown, Delaware.
This project aims to provide appropriate turn lanes and signals, and railroad crossing improvements while also widening the Lewes Georgetown Highway, otherwise known as U.S. Route 9, and Shingle Point Road.
The initiative aims to provide a continuous U.S. Route 9 truck bypass from U.S. Route 113 to U.S. 9 East of Georgetown. DelDOT's site said it is currently in the 'design and planning phase.' The project is split into two phases, though the planned construction date isn't slated to begin until 2023. Officials hope it is all completed by 2025.
