HHM 2021: 'My Sister's Fault': The Puerto Rican-Inspired Bakery That Became a Hit in Milford

MILFORD, Del.-- Two fun and sassy sisters from Puerto Rico made their 'American Dream' of owning a bakery a reality.

Angie and Rous Robles are the Dominican, Puerto Rican sisters behind the popular Puerto Rican-Inspired Milford bakery called 'My Sister's Fault.

"We were sitting down and daydreaming about having a bakery or business," Angie Robles explained. "We always thought, OK, if something goes wrong, it's going to be your fault and my sister would be like, 'no, if something goes wrong it's going to be your fault.'"

My Sister's Fault has been open for four years in Downtown Milford, though the Robles sisters moved to Delaware about 10 years before that from Puerto Rico.

"We were going to college...my sister had four different part-time jobs and I had two part-time jobs, and we were sharing one car and it was a struggle," said Rous Robles.

They eventually followed in their younger brother's footsteps, and ended up working at Perdue Farms.

"We started from the bottom and we end up being on the managing team, so after that we were looking to pursue our dream; after 10 years later, after working in that company," Rous said.

Although they didn't get to finish college, they began to apply the skills they were taught at the company into their own business.
