The program, tailored for children ages 7 to 17 and their families, includes weekly two-hour sessions with group learning, fun activities, and a free family dinner provided at each meeting.

SNOW HILL, Md. – Families in Worcester County can participate in the Worcester County Health Department’s Strengthening Families program, a free nine-week series designed to help youth and their parents or guardians build  healthier habits.

The program, tailored for children ages 7 to 17 and their families, includes weekly two-hour sessions with group learning, fun activities, and a free family dinner provided at each meeting.

Topics include improving communication skills, managing stress, setting healthy habits and learning to understand emotions. Families also have a chance to earn prizes and other incentives for attending.

Two separate sessions are being offered this spring:

  • Berlin session: Begins April 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at SonRise Church, 10026 Main Street

  • Pocomoke session: Begins April 9, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Pocomoke Health Center, 400-A Walnut Street
