The cause of the fire was not disclosed.

BETHANY BEACH, Del. — A fire early Thursday morning damaged several trailers at the Treasure Beach campground west of Fenwick Island, according to the Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company.

Emergency crews were dispatched around 1:30 a.m. on July 4 to assist the Roxana Volunteer Fire Company after reports of a trailer fire off Lighthouse Road. Traffic Control 70 was the first to arrive and reported one trailer fully involved in fire.

Engine 905 arrived moments later and confirmed that multiple trailers were burning. Units from the Ocean City Fire Department and additional crews from Bethany Beach responded to help extinguish the fire.

Firefighters worked quickly to bring the flames under control and prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the campground. No injuries have been publicly reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
