MILLSBORO, Del. - A new Beebe Health Campus is in the works for Millsboro but was tabled for Monday night's Town Council meeting.

An empty field near the Plantation Lakes housing development in Millsboro will be the new home for Beebe Healthcare's new medical center.

In a 2022 presentation, Beebe shared that their goal is to improve timely access to care, reduce the cost of care and bring critically needed pediatric emergency care to the center of Sussex County.

"We need a lot more centers. From what I understand, this one is going to be created a little bit more towards the youth which I think they're going to need. It's a great idea, no question about it," said Lubbers.

Joseph Koski, a local pharmacy technician, thinks this will also help get more people off wait lists and in to see doctors when they need them most.Ā

"I think it's a great thing for the community. I know there's a very big shortage of doctors. People are waiting up to six months to get into the doctor's office across many professions," Koski explained.

The Town updated its website Monday morning, sharing that the project would no longer be discussed at Monday night's meeting. It is now set for June 2. Millsboro's Town Manager told CoastTV "that item has been tabled by Beebe due to a scheduling conflict on their side.Ā  They will be on the June agenda."
