DELAWARE- Governor Matt Meyer has nominated Jennifer Donahue to serve as a judge on the newly created seat in Sussex County Family Court.

“Throughout her career, Jennifer Donahue has demonstrated a commitment to helping families and children navigate deeply sensitive, and often complex, legal matters in Delaware,” Meyer said in a statement. “Her trial expertise, communication skills, and broad knowledge of the law will provide her with the competence and confidence to make well-informed decisions for the families of Sussex County.”

Donahue currently serves as a Deputy Attorney General in the Special Victims Unit at the Delaware Department of Justice. She previously worked at the State Office of the Child Advocate, where she served as a Deputy Child Advocate and later as an Investigation Coordinator and Child Attorney.

Over her 24-year legal career, Donahue has handled a wide range of civil and criminal cases in Family and Superior Courts. Her work has focused on child welfare, domestic violence and abuse and neglect cases.

Donahue’s appointment will require confirmation by the Delaware State Senate.
