DELAWARE - The Minerva Marrero Hispanic Scholarship Program in Delaware is offering monetary scholarships to Hispanic high school seniors to assist their post-secondary education and vocational training.

Tier 1 recipients will be awarded $5,000. Tier 2 will receive $3,000, and Tier 3 recipients will get $2,000.

To be eligible, applicants must be high school seniors in Delaware from households that meet specific income criteria. They should also be at least 50 percent Hispanic and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0. Awarded students must provide verification of enrollment in an accredited college, university, or vocational school by July 1.

Iris Pinto from the Latin American Community Center encouraged participation: "We want all the Hispanic students in the state of Delaware to apply for this opportunity because it would help them, it would help them in their future. Every little bit helps."

Interested students must apply by Feb. 24. Applications can be found on the Latin American Community Center's website.
