Atlantic General Hospital and TidalHealth sign new deal

DELMARVA — Atlantic General Hospital and TidalHealth are joining forces, Wednesday they announced the signing of a definitive agreement that will bring Atlantic General and its affiliated services under the umbrella of TidalHealth.

According to TidalHealth this agreement will help both organizations offer more services to the people of Worcester, Wicomico, Somerset, Sussex and surrounding counties.

“This partnership will help us to be more efficient, innovative, and effective in delivering the best possible care,” said Steve Leonard, Ph.D., MBA, FACHE, president and CEO of TidalHealth. “We are excited to welcome AGH into TidalHealth and look forward to the great things we will accomplish by being better together.”

With the agreement in place, Atlantic General Hospital and its network of medical practices and outpatient facilities will become part of the TidalHealth system. TidalHealth’s network currently includes TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury, TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford and TidalHealth McCready Pavilion in Crisfield, along with additional care centers in Ocean Pines and Millsboro.

“This affiliation ensures that patients across Worcester and Sussex Counties continue to receive the personalized care they expect from their local hospital and providers, backed by the strength and added capability of TidalHealth,” said Don Owrey, MBA, president of Atlantic General Hospital.

According to officials, the partnership will allow Atlantic General to access capital funding to expand services, improve care coordination and strengthen workforce recruitment and retention.
