Laurel plans to expand security cameras around town
New security cameras are soon coming to the town of Laurel. Police say eight additional cameras are planned for high-crime areas, funded by a $120,000 state grant. Laurel currently has two tag reader cameras, and work on the new installations could begin by the end of the year. The original plan for 20 cameras on utility poles was denied due to safety concerns.
